S. D. Myers, Inc. enters into agreement with Dong Myung Ent. Co., Ltd. to help eliminate PCB’s in Transformers in South Korea

TALLMADGE, OHIO – November 3, 2008 – S. D. Myers, Inc. (SDMI) today announced it has entered into an agreement, with Dong Myung Enterprise Co., Ltd. (DMEC) of South Korea to, provide equipment, materials and personnel needed to remove polychlorinated-biphenyls (PCBs) in mineral oil dielectric fluids used in electrical transformers in South Korea.

SDMI designs, manufactures and operates equipment, known as PCBX, which destroys PCBs in mineral oil, for use in countries outside of the USA. DMEC desires to build a business to help rid South Korea of their PCB contaminated transformers.

“These agreements mark a significant milestone in a long road of efforts to help remove the hazard and liability of PCBs in transformer oil, especially in our recent focus in Southeast Asia,” said, Dale Bissonette, vice-president of S. Myers to continue to grow our MaxLife equipment designs and services as well as Good Place work community philosophy in other parts of the world.”

PCBX technology and equipment is a proven, safe, state of the art process for the destruction of PCBs in oil. PCBX has dechlorinated and reclaimed over 60 million gallons of oil in both transformers and bulk oil storage facilities.
